The Cuneiform Research Forum was inaugurated and held its first official programme on December 13, 2022. Prof. T. V. Madhu of the Philosophy Department gave the amazing speech. Around 80 persons from outside the department, including PG students and research scholars, attended the event. Mr. Simjith V, a Research Scholar, gave the opening remarks. The ceremony was presided over by Hod Dr. Muhammed Haneefa. Smt. A five-day national workshop on data analysis for the social sciences was conducted at the department from December 5th through December 9th, 2022. The programme was inaugurated by honourable vice chancellor Prof. Dr. MK Jayaraj. HOD Dr. Muhammed Haneefa presided over the function. A welcome address was given by Professor T. M. Vasudevan. Dr. M. Manoharan felicitated the program. Dr. T. Muhammed Nishad, Associate Professor, Farook College, and retired Professor Somashekaran Pillai, University College, Thiruvanthapuram, were the resource persons. Dr. Syamili C extended the vote of thanks for the inaugural program.






                                            





                                                        

                                                    

                                                    


                            The first two days were handled by Prof. Somashekaran Pillai, who covered the theory of statistics and a practical section in Excel. There were 40 participants, comprising PG students and research scholars. The class was really helpful to understand the basics of statistics and the tools in Excel to do different statistical calculations.             


The following three days were handled by Dr. Nishad Sir, who covered the fundamentals of statistics as well as how to upload data in SPSS, perform analysis, conduct research, and come to conclusions.

 Onam was celebrated by FLISS and Department of Library & Information Science on September 1 in a grant way.  The program started in a formal way with official address by HOD Dr. Muhammed Haneefa Sir. Dr. Vasudevan T.M. also addressed the gathering. A lot of cultural programs such as thiruvathira kali, dance, onam pattu graced the occasion. A grand onam sadya was arranged. Congratulations'' Fasal Rahman P '' for winning quiz at Department of History, University of Kannur.

                                                                                         Congratulations Fasal Rahman P. and Ajay Mohan K. second semester students  for winning first prize in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Inter College Quiz organized by Department of history, Govt, Arts & Science College Mankada. on 16th August  2022.                                






                                                          


 

What a special day for the department. First semester students Deepika & Mohammed Hudaif (First prize), Arjun C M & Drisya Sankar C (Second prize) and Abdul Shukoor & Akash Nandu. M (Third prize)  has won all the prizes in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Inter Departmental Quiz Competition  organized by the Department of History, University of Calicut on 16th August 2022.. There were 16 teams competing of which our department students bagged all the three prizes. First semester students have online class and before coming properly to the campus they have won prizes and we appreciate their efforts for competing and winning. Congratulations " Fasal Rahman P " 👏👏👏4th semester student for securing 2nd position in Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition held at Providence Women's College, Calicut.


 Librarians day was celebrated by organizing a talk by Mr. Simjith V. on the topic "Is Ranganathan a Pragmatic Philosopher? on August 12th 2022 from 11am to 12.30pm. The programme was organized by FLISS. Dr. Mohammed Haneefa K, HOD DLISc presided the programme. Mrs. Bincy O. K., President, FLISS delivered the welcome address. 67 students participated. The talk was very informative. Despite the technical problems also participants eagerly joined the program.
