DLISc welcomes you to the library blog

Now you can not only view how many times an item has been cited but also why it was cited. Using the citation classifications that enrich cited references, you can see whether citing articles referenced a paper as background or basis, discussed it in more detail, or presented supporting or differing results. Click through to the citing items to view brief snippets of the author’s exact words when citing the source. With the new Citation Class sort option, you can sort search results based on how they have been most frequently cited, e.g., as background.

While viewing an article from Web of Science, We can see the new feature Citing items by classification on the right side. This feature enables the researcher to know the citation given in article is used as background or basis or to support a claim or differ or used in discussion part.
