Gandhi Jayanti Celebration
On October 3, 2024, FLISS arranged a program to honor the 153rd anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth. The event was held at the seminar hall and was hosted by Akshaya. Vishnumaya began the proceedings with a prayer.
Prof. T.M Vasudevan, Head of the Department, delivered a strong message that emphasized Gandhi's principles of nonviolence and selflessness. Mr. Simjith expressed his views that mirrored the ideals and philosophies of Gandhi. One of the most touching moments of the day was when we honored our cleaning staffs: Smt. Ramadevi, Smt. Laalu, and the Gardener Smt. Sunitha. Their unwavering dedication for keeping our campus clean often goes unnoticed, but on this day, we took a moment to celebrate them. As Prof. Vasudevan, Dr. Syamili, and our department librarian, Ms. Durga A.V., presented them with gifts, their smiles illuminated the hall, a beautiful reminder of the essential roles we all play in our community. Fayis and Salini then engaged us with a lively quiz about Mahatma Gandhi, bringing a sense of joy and camaraderie to the gathering.
A heartfelt documentary about Gandhi's massacre was shown in the hall.
Research scholar Ajmal Shajahan shared how Gandhi's non-violent approach has deeply influenced him. Ameera delivered vote of thanks and the program was concluded.
