Library Visit to St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode

A team comprising students and faculty from the Department conducted an academic visit to the newly renovated library at St Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode on 17th February 2025. We were warmly welcomed by Thomson Sir, who guided us throughout the visit. His cordial reception and insightful explanations greatly enhanced our understanding of the library’s resources and operations. The visit was part of the curriculum enrichment program aimed at familiarizing students with the structure, operations, and best practices of established academic libraries. The Devagiri library features landscaped courtyards, glass walls to facilitate the entry of natural light, and modern amenities including centralized air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and reading lounges. It redefines the traditional concept of libraries, creating spaces that encourage learning, relaxation and intellectual exchange.
