Our department recently hosted an enriching series of workshops, equipping students with essential digital skills for the modern information era. From March 10 to 19, the department buzzed with discussions on library automation, statistical analysis, and academic integrity—three pillars shaping the future of information management.
The workshop on
Koha and DSpace, conducted in collaboration with CHMK Library, was a
deep dive into integrated library systems and digital repositories.
Participants got hands-on experience in installation, usage, and
management of these open-source tools, empowering them to streamline
library operations and enhance access to digital resources.
Dr.
Muhammed Nishad, Professor at Farook College's Commerce Department,
guided participants in unraveling through SPSS. The workshop provided
practical training in data analysis, interpretation, and statistical
applications, making research analysis easier and more insightful for students
and scholars.
Dr. Vinod M., former University Librarian, conducted an eye-opening session on academic
integrity, plagiarism detection tools, and ethical writing practices.
The session emphasized the importance of originality in scholarly work
and provided practical guidance on avoiding unintentional plagiarism.
